Our
Story

PSB.png

PSB Transitions of Saratoga is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families in crisis throughout Saratoga and the Capital Region. Our organization provides compassionate, immediate assistance to families experiencing unexpected hardship, helping them move toward greater stability—or maintain stability—during times of acute need.

PSB Transitions offers targeted financial support to families facing critical, unforeseen challenges. This includes help with essential expenses such as new tires for safe transportation, travel costs related to medical treatment, clothing, and financial support following a cancer diagnosis or other life-changing events.

Our organization has awarded thousands of dollars in school scholarships specifically for those pursuing education and training in social work and the health and human services fields, continuing the organization’s commitment to nurturing future helpers and advocates.

A core initiative of PSB Transitions is its commitment to keeping children connected to their community. The organization helps families access after-school programs, athletics, and youth activities—opportunities that provide structure, belonging, and positive social engagement during difficult times.

PSB Transitions of Saratoga proudly honors the legacy of the late Patricia Sweeney Bergin, a beloved former school social worker in Saratoga. Patricia dedicated her life to removing barriers that prevented children and families from fully participating in their community. Her passion for connection, inclusion, and support continues to inspire the organization’s mission and work each day.

With a mission rooted in compassion and community, PSB Transitions of Saratoga stands as a vital support network for families navigating crisis, offering hope, stability, and practical assistance when it is needed most.
